Man accused in deaths of four people indicted on 15 charges

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A 39-year-old man was indicted Wednesday on charges related to the December deaths of four people on the South Side.

Haikiem Graham was indicted on 15 total charges by a Franklin County grand jury, according to Prosecutor Shayla Favor. Included are charges related to gun use and gang involvement. Favor said Graham was part of the Deuce Deuce Bloods gang when the deaths took place.

On Dec. 12, Columbus police began investigating the shooting death of Darrell Hambrick, who was killed the day before in Columbus' Vassar Village neighborhood. On Dec. 15, they responded to a call for medical assistance and found three women dead in a house less than a mile away. Killed were Sierra Muse, 34, Dawn Clover, 49, and Tiffany Parrish, 36.

The deaths sparked online speculation of a South Side serial killer, but Columbus police quickly responded to those rumors.

“I can tell you definitively that that is not the case," Deputy Chief Smith Weir said in a news conference on Dec. 17.

Weir said police were investigating possible connections between the two scenes, by which time Graham was already in custody. Records showed he used to live in the house where the three women were killed.

In 2022, Graham had faced charges in a high-speed chase. He was accused of ramming the car of his ex-girlfriend when they encountered each other at a Franklinton pizza shop. After he pointed a gun at her, she drove away, and he followed at speeds that approached 80 mph on city streets.

The ex-girlfriend noticed Columbus police cruisers and flagged them down for assistance, after which Graham drove away. He later pulled over for officers but drove away again as they approached his car. His car was found that night, and he was arrested 11 days later.

Graham's next court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
