Sanju Samson to be sidelined due to finger injury? Report makes MASSIVE claim

0

India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson reportedly injured his index finger during the 5th T20I against England which was held at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.

According to a report by PTI, Samson is set to be out of action for the next 5 to 6 weeks. This means that he will end up missing the upcoming Ranji Trophy quarter-finals. Samson is also set to go under rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

“Samson has fractured his right index finger. It will take him five to six weeks before he can resume proper nets. So there is no chance of him playing the Ranji Trophy quarter-final for Kerala (vs J&K) in Pune from February 8-12,” a BCCI source told PTI.

“In all likelihood, his comeback will happen in the IPL for Rajasthan Royals,” the source added.

The injury occurred when Samson was hit on his index finger by a delivery bowled by England pacer Jofra Archer. The wicketkeeper-batter was sent back to the dugout in the second over itself and later underwent scans which showed a fracture.

The England T20I series turned out to be an underwhelming one for Samson as he was only able to score 51 runs in five games with 26 in the opening game at the Eden Gardens being his highest score.
