'The Sandman' Canceled by Netflix After Two Seasons

The Sandman will not be getting a third season.

On Friday (January 31), it was announced that the Netflix show, based on the DC Comic series by Neil Gaimain, has been canceled after two seasons.

Showrunner Allan Heinbarg shared in a statement with Variety, “‘The Sandman’ series has always been focused exclusively on Dream’s story, and back in 2022, when we looked at the remaining Dream material from the comics, we knew we only had enough story for one more season.”

Season one of The Sandman, which stars Tom Sturridge, premiered on Netflix back in November 2022. Season two still hasn’t been released, but the new season won’t be impacted by the cancellation and all of the episodes are still set to be released later this year.
