Serena Williams’ Daughter Olympia Is a Mini Makeup Artist in the Cutest New Video & Even the Pros Are Impressed
Olympia Ohanian inherited an impressive skill from her mom Serena Williams — and no, it’s not her iconic tennis serve. It turns out, the 7-year-old is talented at doing makeup just like her mama!
The Wyn Beauty founder shared an adorable video on TikTok of her daughter acting as her mini makeup artist, and even professionals think she’s really good! “I love being Olympia’s mom,” Williams captioned the video.
The camera is turned to selfie mode for the video, and you can see Olympia reaching over with a liquid blush and beauty blender to apply to her mom’s face. She turns the blender this way and that to get different angles, and when she’s done, Williams looks at the camera impressed.
She then applies concealer to the beauty blender and applies it to her mom’s face, totally focused and expertly moving like she’s done this a million times before. Later, she switches to a makeup brush to apply products from Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty line. Williams is so patient as she gets a makeover from her daughter, and it’s so cool seeing her in mom mode!
The 23-time Grand Slam winner, who shares Olympia and daughter Adira, 17 months, with husband Alexis Ohanian, continues recording as Olympia continues applying cosmetics to her mom’s face. “It looks good, right?” Olympia asks her mom at one point.
“It looks pretty good! You know where to put the dots [of concealer],” Williams praised. She also gave her daughter some tips on applying blush with the brush, then using the sponge to smooth it out.
Once her face is done, Williams coaches her on how to apply lip liner, which she does with a steady hand. At the end, Williams shows off her finished look, giving some critiques. “This side is not terrible, and this side is not bad either,” she said. (Hey, nobody is perfect on the first try!)
The end result was impressive, though, and many pros complimented her. “Make up artist here: her blend technique is amazing!” one person commented. Someone else wrote, “Shoot. She’s doing better than me ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????”
“She knows the techniques ???? She’s so grown up and adorable ????,” another said.
Beauty is important to Williams, and it all started from a childhood tradition. In an April interview with Byrdie, the tennis legend reflected on her introduction to beauty.
“My earliest beauty memory has to do with my mom,” Williams told the outlet. “She wore red lipstick back then and still does now. I remember playing in her makeup as a kid.”
Because of those fond memories, she is passing those traditions down to her daughters. “The way I talk to myself about beauty has certainly changed throughout my life, and it will continue to evolve,” she continued. “Motherhood has allowed me to look at beauty through the eyes of my daughter, Olympia. We’re always experimenting with makeup together, and I think about how these moments will be part of both of our beauty journeys.”
