Tottenham Hotspur are now turning their attention to a Moroccan who has been finding the back of the net regularly this season, but they face one roadblock in getting a deal over the line.

Hamza Igamane is turning heads with his impressive displays

The player in question is Hamza Igamane, who was a completely unknown quantity when Rangers signed him from Moroccan side FAR Rabat for just £2.5m last summer.

However, the centre-forward has hit the ground running in Scotland, having scored nine league goals in 20 league outings, and another four goals in five Europa League matches so far.

His performances are now reportedly attracting attention from the south of the border, with clubs now looking to bring him to the Premier League before the February 3 deadline.

This update comes from TEAMtalk, who name Spurs and Everton as two of the sides who have regularly sent scouts to Ibrox to watch Igamane in action.

The report claims that both Premier League clubs have been impressed by the 22-year-old and are eyeing a late deal, while Bayer Leverkusen and Nice are also circling over the striker.

However, the report makes it clear that Rangers have no intention to sell the centre-forward midway into the season and are determined to hang on to him at least until the summer.

The report states that the Moroccan is considered ‘highly unlikely’ to leave the Glasgow club before the February 3 deadline.

Summer move on the cards for Igamane

Interestingly, TEAMtalk suggest that while a sale might not be on the cards this month, the situation could change completely in the summer.

It is pointed out that Rangers’ business model is based on signing young players on the cheap and selling them on for a profit, which is why they might not be able to resist offers from the likes of Tottenham for Hamza Igamane at the end of the season.

With the player being the one with the most value in the Scottish club’s squad currently, they are expected to make a ‘huge profit’ on him in the summer.
