JPC adopts amended Waqf bill as Opposition slams its provisions as 'unconstitutional'

The Joint Committee of Parliament approved the amended Waqf (Amendment) Bill with a majority vote, despite strong opposition criticism. The Bill aims to enhance transparency in the Waqf boards' functioning while including backward Muslims, women, and orphans as beneficiaries. It also allows non-Muslims to be involved in Waqf boards.
