Virat Kohli set to return to Ranji Trophy after 13 years under captaincy of LSG’s Young star player

After 13 long years, Indian star batter Virat Kohli has returned to India’s domestic competition with his inclusion in the Ranji Trophy squad for Delhi against Railways. However, instead of leading the team, he will play under the leadership of youngster Ayush Badoni.

Delhi has had a terrible run in the tournament till now. Under the leadership of Ayush, who plays for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), leads the Delhi team in the tournament. Out of six games, they have won only one match, ended three matches at a draw, and lost two. In the recent match against Saurashtra, Delhi lost by 10 wickets as they got bowled out for 188 and 94 in their two innings.

In a conversation, the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) secretary has stated that Virat Kohli will join the Delhi Ranji team tomorrow and will begin training at 10 AM. Even though his recent performance has been down, Virat joining the team will bring strength to the lienup.

Virat played his last Ranji Trophy match in November 2012, against Uttar Pradesh, where Delhi lost by 6 wickets. He then secured himself as a fixed player in India’s eleven in all formats of the game, and then him and all the other players stopped representing their states.
