Getting outdoors and into nature with McKinney Roughs Nature Park

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Temperatures and beautiful skies continue to bring the perfect conditions to get out of the house and back into nature.

McKinney Roughs Nature Park has a stacked start to the year with plenty to do from the final days of Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience to ziplining and more.

"We have something called zipline paintball, and that's one thing, not two separate things, as most people might imagine. You actually paintball while ziplining," LCRA Senior Vice President of Community Resources Margo Richards said.

Richards shared how important getting outside is, especially after being inside for so long.

"Being outside is so good for your physical and mental health. Studies have shown that spending time outdoors lowers stress," Richards said.

The park also has hiking trails, kayaking, archery and high ropes.
