Tax season: Louisiana state income tax filing begins Jan. 29

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- Louisiana taxpayers can start filing state individual income tax returns on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Taxpayers can file electronically through the state department of revenue's Louisiana Taxpayer Acess Point (LaTAP) account management portal. The portal can be used to file tax returns, make payments and check the status of individual income tax refunds.
Printed state returns are available online. Click here to get forms.
Anyone who has moved or changed their name since the last tax filing can update contact information online at www.revenue.louisiana.gov/AddressChange.
When can Louisiana taxpayers expect to get refunds?
- Within four weeks of submission date for returns submitted electronically.
- Up to eight weeks for paper returns.
