Amsterdam Soupfest winners announced
AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Amsterdam community members came out in droves Saturday for the annual Soupfest. Attendees were asked to choose the best and the most unique soups and the results are in.
This year, the restaurant crowned for the best soup was LLV Creekside tavern. The restaurant won best soup for its Crab and Corn Chowder. Schawalbacher Brewing won the most unique soup for its Spicy Brazilian Coconut Shrimp Soup.
According to the City of Amsterdam Tourism, Marking and Recreation, all 22 soups entered received multiple votes for the best soup. The participants and soups included:
- Herks Tavern: Flipper Fasool
- Lorenzo’s Southside: Pasta Fagioli and Gnocchi Chicken and Vegetable Soup
- Shorty’s Southside: Italian Minesta and New England Clam Chowder
- Anthony’s Deli: Italian Wedding Soup
- Muni Club House: Sausage Tortellini Soup
- Sharp Shooters Billiards Pub: Lasagna Soup and Broccoli Cheddar Soup
- Schwalbacher Brewing: Spicy Brazilian Coconut Shrimp Soup (Won Most Unique)
- Rug City Bar and Lounge: Chicken Corn Chowder
- Joe’s Family: Pasta Fagioli
- Polish American Veterans: Kielbasa Potato Soup
- Second Act Spirits: Bourbon Butternut Squash Soup
- American Legion Post 701: Ham Soup
- Russo’s Bar and Grill: Chili and Chicken Pastine
- Creekside: Crab and Corn Chowder (Won Best Soup)
- Lyon Street Bar and Grill: Award-Winning Bacon Mushroom Cheeseburger Chowder and Pasta Fagioli 72
- Tuman’s Restaurant: Cream of Potato Soup and Kielbasa Soup
- Europa Cafe: Creamy Chicken Corn Chowder Soup
- Five Corners Deli: Chicken Stew
- St. Mikes: Polish Soup
- Schotts Tavern: Chicken and Sausage Gumbo
