Stewart's Shops donates $300K to Skidmore College

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Stewart's Shops has made a $300,000 donation to Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, the company announced on Monday. The funding will support the college's scholarship aid and summer programs.

"The college has done an excellent job providing quality education for aspiring young professionals and the Saratoga community," said Jennifer Frame, Stewart's Shop's director of philanthropy, in a website post about the donation. "We are proud to support these efforts."

According to the announcement, Skidmore, which is a private liberal arts institution, is pushing for greater education access through expanded scholarships. The school will also reportedly use the donation to host more concerts, discussions and readings with reputable musicians, scholars and authors.

"These programs have positioned the college as an essential resource for the region," Frame said.
