AAA shares tips for Chiefs fans going to New Orleans
KANSAS (KSNT) - AAA is giving football fans some helpful information before they head off to join the Kansas City Chiefs in Louisiana.
The big game will be in person on Sunday, Feb. 9 in New Orleans. Currently, the cheapest 'get-in' ticket price is about $5,000 per seat, according to AAA. The distance from Wichita to New Orleans is about 845 miles for a 12 to 13-hour drive. Those seeking rental vehicles can expect to pay $230 for a four-day rental using a AAA membership. Fortunately for motorists, Kansas and Louisiana have some of the lowest gas prices in the nation.
AAA Travel Advisor Matt Bert said flights could vary in price depending on demand as it gets closer to the game. AAA says flights out of Wichita leaving on Feb. 7 and returning on Feb. 11 cost $437 and up. Bert says returning on Feb. 10 could increase those prices by $100-150.
AAA recommends calling your hotel or Airbnb homeowner to confirm your reservations. Hotel prices near the Superdome will cost $1,000 and up. Hotels near the airport have listings starting at $350 per night.
Tips for sports fans:
