Dispensary burglary leads to standoff; 1 arrested

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A suspect is in custody after a standoff in Southeast Portland early Monday morning, authorities said.

According to Portland police, officers responded to a reported burglary at a dispensary near SE 10th Avenue and SE Divison Street at around 5:00 a.m. and they learned that a potentially armed suspect was inside a business.

Both the Special Emergency Reaction Team and the Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the scene and people in the area were asked to remain indoors during the incident.

After about 90 minutes, police said they took the suspect into custody peacefully and the shelter-in-place was lifted.
