Kevin Costner Launches New 'Yellowstone' Show—But It's Not What You Think

0

As Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone TV empire expands, Kevin Costner will obviously not be a part of it. After June 2024, Costner quit the hit series forever, and his character, John Dutton, was killed off well before the show actually concluded. But now, Costner is returning to Yellowstone. Well, kind of.

According to Deadline, Kevin Costner is set to host a new documentary series called Yellowstone to Yosemite with Kevin Costner. The three-part series will find Costner walking in the footsteps of President Teddy Roosevelt and John Muir, re-mapping a famous Yosemite expedition.

According to Costner, he took on the project for somewhat personal reasons, saying: "Once in a while, you come across a story that has that truly special mix of elements; it’s stranger than fiction and happens against all odds. It results in something that legitimately changes the world for the good and, most importantly, it all really happened."

To be clear, the new documentary series won't have anything to do with Yellowstone the series, but rather, the territory that eventually became the Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. Costner will star in Yellowstone to Yosemite insofar as he'll simply appear as himself, talking and walking us through the real history and modern-day natural wonders of both Yellowstone and Yosemite.

Yellowstone to Yosemite with Kevin Costner will begin airing on Fox Nation on February 8.
