Book Review: A private eye searches for his missing father while protecting a runaway wife

In “Been Wrong So Long It Feels Like Right,” Walter Mosley’s third novel featuring Joe King Oliver, the New York City private eye has two problems to solve. A billionaire hires Joe to find his runaway wife, but Joe quickly realizes that a reunion would not be in her best interest. Meanwhile, Joe’s beloved 94-year-old grandmother asks him to find her only son, who has dropped out of sight after being released from prison. Associated Press reviewer Bruce DeSilva says that as usual, Mosley’s fine prose often turns lyrical, but that at times the plotting is so dense that readers may find it hard to keep things straight.
