American captured in France on campus sexual assault charges waives hearing in Pennsylvania
An American extradited from France in a 2013 campus sexual assault case has waived his right to a court hearing in Pennsylvania this week. Defendant Ian Cleary will remain in custody until a formal arraignment in March. The 32-year-old Cleary is accused of sneaking into the victim's dorm and sexually assaulting her at Gettysburg College. Cleary, of Saratoga, California, is represented by a public defender who declined to comment on the case Monday. Cleary left Gettysburg after the alleged encounter and finished college in California before moving to Europe.
