India’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana was named ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year on Monday. The charismatic opener set new career benchmarks in 2024, scoring a total of 747 runs in 13 innings, the most she has ever accumulated in a calendar year. Her impressive tally made her the highest run-scorer in Women’s ODIs for 2024, surpassing Laura Wolvaardt (697), Tammy Beaumont (554), and Hayley Matthews (469).
