Mum flies 1,300 miles to Spain and back to UK to pick up new car — as it was cheaper than train ticket
A MUM flew more than 1,300 miles to Spain and back to the UK to pick up her new car — as it was a cheaper than getting a train.
Kristina Coulson lives in Cornwall and needed to collect a Skoda near Crewe.
But the mum of four could not believe how expensive getting a train would be — up to £200 a person for one-way tickets.
After some research, the support worker found it was cheaper to fly from Newquay to Malaga and back to Manchester.
And on Sunday last weekend, Kristina, 43, and husband Dan Coulson, 50, packed their bags for a flying visit to Spain.
The couple spent the day in Malaga, then flew back and spent the night in a hotel near the car, then drove home.
They spent £54 each on flights and £45 on a hotel — a total of £153.
Kristina from Lansallos, Cornwall, said: “Everything was on time.
“It was just lovely and easy.
“I had an amazing time this trip – we would love to go back for a couple of nights or so just to have a bit more free time to explore a little bit more.”
