White Sox Taking Swift Approach With Several Ex-Red Sox Prospects

The Chicago White Sox made a series of transactions Friday involving several former Boston Red Sox prospects.

Chicago issued 24 spring training invites which included Bobby Dalbec, Braden Montgomery, Kyle Teel and Chase Meidroth. The latter three along with pitching prospect Wikelman Gonzalez came over when the Red Sox acquired top starter Garrett Crochet in a decisive trade.

Teel and Montgomery joined four current Red Sox prospects in the Top 100 update this week from MLB Pipeline.

Dalbec looks for his next opportunity after he could not find his way back to the majors. He hit 25 home runs in 2025 but did not build on that in the three years since. The White Sox hope to build from the ground up with a number of former notable names of the talented Red Sox farm system.

The White Sox set a modern record with 121 losses in a season to forget on the south side of Chicago. The ballclub opens the season against the Los Angeles Angels while the Red Sox visit Texas to take on the Rangers.
