Traffic Alert: Rocks block portion of I-35 in Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A portion of southbound Interstate 35 was closed after reports of rocks covering the roadway.

According to the Austin Police Department, the rocks covered several lanes near the 2500 block of South I-35 which is close to Airport Boulevard. As a result, the highway was shut down to one lane heading south to allow crews to clear the lanes.

APD said to avoid the area and expect delays while crews worked.
