Billy Ray Cyrus' Ex-Wife Firerose Speaks Out After His Concerning Inauguration Performance: 'It's Very Sad'
Firerose is breaking her silence on ex-husband Billy Ray Cryus‘ inauguration performance controversy.
While performing at the Liberty Inaugural Ball on Monday evening (January 20), the 63-year-old country music star wandered around the stage and spoke to the audience. After sparking concerns about his well-being, he later blamed it on malfunctioning equipment.
Following the performance Billy Ray‘s adopted son Trace Cyrus penned an open letter saying that their family is worried about him.
Now, Firerose, 36, whose real name is Johanna Rosie Hodges, is addressing the situation.

If you didn’t know, Firerose and Billy Ray were together for four years before marrying in October 2023. They split seven months later and their divorce was finalized in August 2024. Firerose claimed that Billy Ray was abusive during their relationship and he accused her of cheating and blocking contact with one of his daughters.
“It’s very sad to see those same struggles continue for him, but I’m glad the truth is coming to light — for his potential good because healing is only possible when you confront the truth and accept there’s a problem,” Firerose continued in her statement. “For me, I remain focused on my faith, my music, my healing and using my story to encourage others to find strength and hope.”
