Billy Ray Cyrus Announces New Album With Son Braison as Trace Cyrus Expresses Concern for Dad's Health Following Inauguration Performance
Billy Ray Cyrus and his son, Braison, announced a new album that they worked on together as the country music star’s other children express concern for his health and wellbeing.
On Friday (January 24), the 63-year-old “Achy Breaky Heart” singer revealed that he would be dropping a new album produced by Braison, 30, at some point this year.
The news comes following a performance during Donald Trump‘s inauguration sparked criticism online and led to Billy Ray‘s son, Trace, 35, issuing a public letter revealing that he and his sisters – Miley, Brandi and Noah Cyrus – were worried about him.

People reported on the new album, which does not have an official title or release date yet.
“I’ve spent this past year getting to know my dad better than I ever have,” Braison said in a statement shared with the outlet. “I’ve heard stories, jokes and songs that I don’t think anyone else has. It’s an opportunity to tell my dad’s story through music and I’m fortunate to be able to take it. Music, stories and family are the most important things to my dad so to bring the two together is a full circle endeavor.”
Billy Ray added that he was “so proud” of the collaborative effort.
“This is art imitating life, imitating art,” he said. “It starts and ends with art. Braison is very talented and ‘25 is his year. I’m glad to be a part of it. This record is gonna be special. I’m gearing up for what will be the journey of a lifetime.”
Amid rumors of a Cyrus family feud, Braison and his youngest sister Noah skipped their mom Tish Cyrus‘ wedding in August 2023.
