Goncourt
Goncourt is a minimalist home located in Paris, France, designed by Atelier Leymarie Gourdon. The project involved transforming the workshop into a hybrid space that combines elements of a loft and a townhouse. The renovation featured a ground-floor courtyard and a 7-meter-high, skylight-lit area. The owners’ brief called for a living space with two small bedrooms, a spacious kitchen for entertaining, a comfortable living room, and a creative studio for Joeri’s work. Atelier Leymarie Gourdon reimagined the existing interior by incorporating two mezzanines into the tall space, creating additional levels for the bedrooms. The firm restored and enlarged the skylights to enhance natural light in the ground-floor living room and kitchen. The design blends industrial aesthetics with contemporary minimalism. The central staircase and concrete slab floors reflect an industrial style, while custom wood and stainless steel joinery add sophistication, maintaining a minimalist approach throughout the space.
