OB-GYN care returns to Johnstown Family Health Center
JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10) — OB-GYN services have resumed at Johnstown Family Health Center. Women's healthcare at the St. Mary's Healthcare facility had previously halted during the COVID-19 pandemic.
OB-GYN providers will now see patients Monday through Thursday at the center, located at 700 South Perry Street. The St. Mary's OB/GYN Health Center at the main hospital campus in Amsterdam will also continue providing OB-GYN care.
Johnstown Family Health Center had stopped providing OB-GYN services due, in part, to staffing shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic, St. Mary's said. Now, the facility has enough additional providers to bring back its women's healthcare services.
"We know that convenience makes an enormous difference in patients’ ability to access quality healthcare and realize the resulting benefits,” Doctor James Izzano said. “As part of our commitment to our patients, we were determined to return to Johnstown as soon as staffing would allow. That time has come, and we are thrilled to be honoring that commitment.”
The Johnstown and Amsterdam facilities are currently accepting new patients. To make an appointment, you can call (518) 842-0373.
