Two dogs killed in Schodack house fire

SCHODACK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two dogs died in a fire that destroyed a home in Schodack, according to a GoFundMe account set up to support the family. The fire chief previously told NEWS10 no people were hurt in the fire.

The fire broke out Tuesday morning on Brookview Road. Firefighters battled frigid temperatures and icy conditions as they worked to put out the fire. Crews put down salt to make the road less slippery.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
