Fundraiser held to support victims of Waterford fire

COHOES, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A fundraiser was held on Thursday to support the victims of a December fire in Waterford. The Cohoes Waterford Elks Lodge served pancakes and sausages at their location on North Mohawk Street in Cohoes.

The fire took place on Dec. 4 at a three-story building on Broad Street. One person was killed, and six others were hurt, including a 3-year-old girl. A card shop that had been on the first floor of the building for 30 years was destroyed.

Investigators said the fire was accidental and not suspicious.

A second fundraiser will be held on Sat. Feb. 8 at Norine's Restaurant.
