Goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Adama Traore saw Leicester sink deeper into relegation woes.
Van Nistelrooy took particular issue with a select few stars, including loanee Facundo Buonanotte.
The 20-year-old, on loan from Brighton, came on as a 71st-minute substitute.
However, he then proceeded to lose the ball on nine occasions despite only touching it 16 times, according to Opta data.
Buonanotte has started just three of Van Nistelrooy’s nine games in charge despite previously being a key man for predecessor Steve Cooper.
The attacking midfielder is said to have been left unhappy by his lack of minutes, with Brighton even considering whether to recall him this month.
The report adds that this is not the first time tempers have flared in the dressing room.

An identical result at home against Crystal Palace the week before saw senior players hold an inquest to try and create more resolve in the team.
However, that meeting proved ineffective in the following match.
SunSport has contacted Leicester for comment.
They face a visit to Tottenham next, with Ange Postecoglou‘s side in a poor run of their own.
