History Buffs, I Need Your Help (19 replies)

Have a look at this picture. It shows a match at Filbert Street between Leicester Fosse and Small Heath that's almost certainly from the late 1890s. I've been trying to put an exact date on it. I think it's either the friendly in March 1896 or the League game in March 1897. Fosse are in the white shirts, with Small Heath in that halved outfit. If I knew who that Small Heath player was it would really help，but online searches have not offered much help.

Any ideas who he is? He's got quite a distinctive face:
