Nitish Kumar's JD(U) withdraws support for BJP-ruled Manipur government

The Janata Dal (United) party, led by Nitish Kumar, withdrew its support for the BJP-led government in Manipur on Wednesday. The move comes as the state continues to be rocked by ethnic violence since May 2023. The government, headed by Chief Minister N Biren Singh, has faced growing pressure from opposition parties amid ongoing unrest. JD(U) holds six Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in the state.
