BLOOD-curdling screams were heard as a Citibank boss was “bludgeoned to death” inside her luxury flat before her killer “fled the UK”.

Investigators believe she knew her attacker and that the “named person” is already feared to have fled abroad.

Neighbours who heard “blood-curdling screams” were told that cops were investigating a disturbance at Marianne’s home between 3am and 4am on Monday, January 13.

Her body, however, wasn’t discovered until officers forced entry to her flat on the Royal Arsenal Riverside development.

They had been called to the home following concerns for her welfare and found her body at around 5.25pm on Friday.

Met Police’s Det Ch Insp Suzanne Soren had previously addressed the “tragic crime” and confirmed the force believed the suspect was known to Marianne.

She had said: “This is a tragic crime and our thoughts at this incredibly difficult time are with Marianne’s loved ones and colleagues.

“We are in contact with her family, who are being supported by specialist colleagues.

“I know this is a concerning time for the wider community and want to reassure the public that whilst we are in the early stages of this investigation, we believe the suspect was known to Marianne and there is no wider risk to the public.

“This is a fast-paced investigation and I would urge anyone with any information to come forward.

“Please call 101 quoting CAD 5231/17Jan or to report anonymously you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

Her employer, Citibank, also paid tribute to the 43-year-old.

A Citi spokesperson said: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague.

“Our thoughts are with Marianne’s family and friends during this difficult time.”

No arrests have yet been made.
