High Potential Season 1 Episode 10 Is a Masterclass in Restraint, Forcing Morgan Into Mama Bear Mode
Check out our High Potential Season 1 Episode 10 review, which discusses Morgan's ultimate nightmare case.

It looks like High Potential is, once again, back to putting the case of Roman’s disappearance on the back burner. This series is amazing, but it’s playing a game of chicken with the audience.
Not that I’m complaining or anything, but a little consistency goes a long way. If you’re anything like this TV Fanatic, you like your loose ends wrapped up nicely in a bow.
High Potential has delivered one amazing episode after another with a cast of incredibly talented actors — not to mention writing that takes audiences on an emotional roller coaster.
What more could the executives at ABC need to give a knock-out series like this the go-ahead for another season? Hell, give High Potential a multiple-season renewal.
If for no other reason than for some assurance that we will see some of the hilarious characters introduced in High Potential Season 1 Episode 10 again.
High Potential Makes Good Use of Guest Appearances From Familiar TV Faces
First and foremost, this particular case was a real scavenger hunt for clues and suspects. However, it led to some of the best new characters introduced that will hopefully make another appearance in the future.
There was the adorable and talented Jai Rodriguez, who portrayed one of the concerned dads who hired the victim as their nanny.
Better known as being a part of the original “Fab Five” from Queer Eye, Rodriguez has since solidified his acting talents in recent projects like Fantasy Island, Eastsiders, and The Rookie.

Then, of course, there was the always boisterous Ken Marino, who came in as a character I have to imagine will pop up again and again for comedic levity as the lovable but talkative Private Investigator.
Marino is one of those actors that you are very familiar with because you’ve seen him in so many things that it’s hard to pinpoint where exactly you know him from.
It’s likely you know him from his hilarious roles on Party Down, Childrens Hospital, and The Other Two. However, if you’ve mistaken him for Rob Riggle, you’re not alone in that. Those two are interchangeable.
Eliza Coupe’s Carina Could Be a Welcomed Recurring Character
Finally, there was the incomparable and ridiculously funny Eliza Coupe. This actor deserves a section all to herself with how much she brought to High Potential Season 1 Episode 10.
From the moment she appeared on screen, I already wanted to laugh. Her signature scowl and sneer have become synonymous with her roles.
Not to mention, I loved how her character was vibing with Morgan and about Cadbury eggs, of all things. How great would it be to see Carina pop up again? As Morgan has said, it’s tough making adult friends.
All the signs pointed to Coupe’s Carina as the murderer, but that would be far too neatly wrapped of a case for High Potential.
If there is one thing fans of the series have come to anticipate, it’s to expect the unexpected.
However, what was not at all unexpected was how well Eliza played her character, given her tenure playing comedic roles that left a lasting impression on viewers.
If you’re new to the actor’s talents, I implore you to see all her glorious hilarity in shows like Happy Endings, Future Man, and Casual.
High Potential Is the Kind of Series You Rewatch for All the Things You Will Definitely Miss the First Time Around
As for the case itself, you would be forgiven if you had a doozy of a time trying to keep up with all the clues and suspects.
High Potential is an amazing series that gets it right in just about every department. However, I will be the first to admit that it takes multiple watches for me to catch everything Morgan says.
Then again, it wouldn’t be believable that she has High Potential if she didn’t talk at a million miles per hour while explaining. The look on Oz and Daphne’s faces pretty much says it all.

Even with my quick note-taking skills, I couldn’t keep up with every detail Miss Gillory dropped. For one thing, what was the whole situation about churches and the calendars?
Then there was the thing about how some people do the sign of the cross a certain way. Thankfully, the series doesn’t rely on viewers to connect the dots. That’s what LAPD Special Consultant Morgan Gillory (Kaitlin Olson) is for.
In the end, though, Tara’s death by Oksana was solved, and the nanny-on-nanny violence came to an expectantly violent conclusion. How else do you expect adults who spend every day with kids to act?
All joking aside, this was another heartbreaking case that had a, thankfully, happy ending. However, it wasn’t the only tear-worthy moment in the episode.
Morgan’s Big Brain Is Great and All, but It’s That Massive Heart of Hers That Leads to Some Truly Amazing and Memorable Moments
Raise your hand if you thought Morgan was about to go to jail for murdering a child in “Chutes and Murders” because I know I was ready to catch a case.
How Morgan controlled herself is a mystery to me because I would have lost it when that little boy said all those horrible things to sweet Elliot.
The first thing that would have happened is that little handheld gaming device would have met the blunt end of a hammer.
Then, I would have handed the pieces to the mom and said, “This will be your son one day if you don’t teach him some damn manners.” Goodness, I’m getting riled up again just thinking about it.
Honestly, I think Morgan handled the situation with the grace of a mother who cares about how her actions affect her children. Still, there was a raging inferno in that woman’s eyes.

Lord knows her characters from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The Mick wouldn’t have held back.
Morgan’s restraint was not that surprising, given how much time and effort she puts into giving her kids a stable and loving household. Seriously, Morgan’s real power is being a super mom.
There’s a lot of love to go around in this show, and despite the more subtle hints, there are still signs that Karadec is developing some feelings for Morgan, romantic or otherwise.
Case in point, it was very “blink and you miss it,” but towards the end of the episode, when Karadec (Daniel Sunjata) and Morgan or in the interrogation room, Morgan calls Karadec “Sneaky Spice,” and the man quickly tries to hide the involuntary smile Morgan gave him.
The clues are right there, even if Miss Gillory can’t see them for herself.
Who did you originally think the killer was going to be before the case was solved?
How mad did the scene with Elliot make you?
