Pakistan and Iran envoys discuss Afghanistan’s Affairs

0

The Special Representative of Pakistan for Afghanistan stated that he held discussions with his Iranian counterpart regarding international geopolitical issues and regional challenges faced by both nations. Mohammad Sadiq Khan noted that both sides agreed to jointly address these challenges.

In a post on his social media account on X, the Special Representative of Pakistan for Afghanistan wrote: “Today, I hosted Hashem Ashjazadeh, the Special Representative of Iran for Afghanistan and the Director General for South Asia at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”

Sadiq Khan added that the meeting was also attended by Reza Amiri Moghaddam, Iran’s Ambassador to Islamabad, and Mohammad Mudassir Tipu, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tehran.

Meanwhile, the ongoing challenges in Afghanistan have exacerbated the plight of Afghan refugees, with many fleeing the dire humanitarian and economic conditions under the Taliban regime. Refugees face significant hardships in host countries, with limited access to basic services and legal protections. Despite international conventions, many Afghan refugees are subject to forced deportations, further endangering their safety and livelihoods.

In addition, reports of harassment and rights violations against Afghan refugees in Iran and Pakistan have raised serious concerns. Refugees have faced discrimination, arbitrary detentions, and forced returns in violation of international refugee laws.

These actions highlight the urgent need for global intervention to ensure the protection of Afghan refugees’ rights and to address the root causes of their displacement. Collaborative efforts from the international community are essential to alleviate their suffering and to uphold human dignity in the face of these challenges.
