Budget 2025: Eliminate coal cess to support power intensive industries like aluminium, says Assocham

Union Budget: Assocham has urged the removal of coal cess to help power-intensive industries like aluminium and improve their competitiveness. The industry body claims the Rs 400 per metric tonne cess, initially introduced in 2010 as Clean Energy Cess, has significantly increased aluminium production costs and impacted industry sustainability.
