SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Saratoga Springs Department of Public Works is holding a special election to fill its Public Works Commissioner spot on January 28. The election will run from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at all city polling sites.

The only person on the ballot will be Republican Chuck Marshall. However, current interim Commissioner of Public Works Hank Kuczynski is running as the democratic write-in candidate.

The last day to register to vote for this special election is Saturday, January 18. You can do so online or by dropping off a voter registration form to the Saratoga County Board of Elections in Ballston Spa.

Early voting begins on Saturday, January 18, and runs until Sunday, January 26. The early voting polling site is the Saratoga Springs Red Center at 15 Vanderbilt Avenue.

January 28 is the last day to postmark a ballot, which must be received by the BOE by February 4. It is also the last day to deliver a ballot in person to a polling site by the closing of polls on election day.

The previous commissioner, Jason Golub, resigned in August. Golub and Deputy Public Works Commissioner, Joe O'Neill, are accused of doing work outside of their normal duties on city time.
