NATIONAL SUMMARY
Snow will spread from Montana to Wyoming and Colorado today
and this evening as a new blast of Arctic air surges to the
south over the Great Plains. A developing storm is forecast
to bring afternoon showers to parts of some of Arkansas and
eastern Missouri. There can also be spotty showers in South
Florida otherwise. Most other areas will be dry. The windy
spots will be the northern Plains and from western Texas to
eastern New Mexico. New England and the mid-Atlantic will
trend warmer for a brief time today, ahead of the next push
of Arctic air for later this weekend to early next week. The
West will be generally dry, sunny and cool. Light winds are
in store for coastal areas of Southern California, but smoke
from existing fires may be a problem for individuals with
respiratory issues.
