New law allows Israeli cities to appoint Rabbis and increase salaries without restriction

The bill allows the ultra-orthodox Shas party to raise the salaries of religious employees and creates an unlimited number of positions for them in the public sector. Until now, the number was determined by the religious councils' budgetary constraints
