Middleburgh CSD prepares for $8.1 million capital project
MIDDLEBURGH, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Middleburgh Central School District is in the planning stages of a proposed $8.1 million capital project. The work will be divided into two phases, the district said.
According to the district, the improvements will be geared toward safety and accessibility while enhancing community spaces and ensuring the longevity of the infrastructure. The project will be funded by state aid and the capital reserve within the district, resulting in no tax increase for community members.
Phase 1 Projects:
Jr-Sr High School building
- Repair and replace gym columns
- Repair main entry
- Repair columns
- Repair and replace attic windows
- Replace auditorium window
- Repair auditorium lighting
- Replace balcony seating
- Demo and replace bathrooms in the cafeteria
Elementary School
- Expand and upgrade School-based health center to meet current standards
- Replace bleachers
- Build a new playground in the back of the building where the little league baseball field was.
Bus Garage
- Repair bus garage parking lot
- Level and pave to address drainage issues and prepare for electric bus implementation
- Seal floor with new product to extend life of concrete
- New lifts that can handle weight of electric buses
- Upgrade electrical infrastructure to allow for most efficient charging of buses
Phase 2 projects:
- Replace slate roof on main building
- Repair cupola on main building
- Seal Elementary School roof with new overlay material – 20-year warranty
- Repairs to gutters
- Repairs to dormers
