Albany man charged with attempted murder
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany man was arrested after a stabbing that took place on Central Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, according to police. Ra-lon Wilson, 30, is facing several charges.
On January 15 shortly before 6 p.m., Albany Police responded to the Capital Green apartments on Central Avenue's 400 block after receiving reports of a violent domestic incident in the area. Arriving officers found a 28-year-old man with a stab wound to the chest.
The victim was tended to on the scene by emergency responders before being taken to Albany Medical Center. Police stated the man remains in critical but stable condition.
The ensuing investigation determined that during a fight in one of the apartments, Wilson allegedly stabbed the victim in front of multiple onlookers, including two children. Officers located him near Ontario and Benson Streets shortly after the stabbing and took him into custody. He now faces the following charges:
- Second-degree attempted murder
- Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
- Two counts of endangering the welfare of a child
Wilson was arraigned on Thursday morning at Albany City Criminal Court before being remanded to the Albany County Jail.
