2 arrested in Kingston narcotics investigation
KINGSTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two Kingston residents were arrested on Monday following a six-month-long narcotics investigation by the Ulster County Sheriff's Office's Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team (URGENT). The investigation was initiated in July 2024 after multiple complaints of narcotic sales in Kingston.
URGENT got a search warrant on Monday for the home of Anthony Harding Jr., 28, and Meredith McSpirit, 29. The team reported finding crack cocaine, cocaine, U.S. currency, ammunition, drug packaging material, and drug paraphernalia.
Charges
Harding:
- Four counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance
- Five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Four counts of fourth-degree conspiracy
- Second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia
McSpirit:
- Five counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance
- Four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Four counts of fourth-degree conspiracy
- Second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia
Harding and McSpirit were arrested and released with an appearance ticket for the City of Kingston Court on January 31. The investigation is still ongoing.
