International Baseball veteran teenager Filippo Sabatini signs for MLB's Philadelphia Phillies

Italian right-handed pitcher Filippo Sabatini signed a professional contract with the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball.

Sabatini will celebrate his 18th birthday on March 2, but already has extensive international experience. He represented Italy at the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2019 and the U-15 European Baseball Championship 2021. He also led Italy to the U-18 European Championship 2024 title, earning the Best Pitcher award.

Born in Anzio, Sabatini developed at the Nettuno Academy and debuted in the Italian Serie A as a 16-year old in 2023.

He will make his professional debut in the Dominican Summer League.
