17 Naxalites gunned down by security forces in Chhattisgarh

Security forces killed 17 Naxalites in an encounter in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh during an anti-Naxalite operation involving state police and CRPF units. Union home minister Amit Shah targets to eliminate Naxalism by March 2026. This month saw 31 Naxalites killed in Chhattisgarh, adding to last year’s 287 fatalities, 1,000 arrests, and 837 surrenders.
