Weekend Watch: Monster Trucks and Vintage Sale

AUSTIN (KXAN) - The weekend approaches fast and there are plenty of events to attend. This time, we are focusing on the 50 Birthday of a Hot Wheels Legend and 5 decades of shopping for some cool vintage items.

Temperatures this weekend will start great but a strong front is expected to arrive bringing much colder temperatures by Sunday.

Hot Wheels: Monster Trucks Live Glow-N-Fire

Hot Wheels returns to the Moody Center on Jan. 18 and 19 with plenty of trucks in line. This year, the company is celebrating the most famous truck of the bunch by throwing a 50th Birthday Bash. This is the truck that started it all and they are inviting everyone to bring homemade birthday signs to display during the event. Plus, this year, Hot Wheels is hosting a pre-show party 2 1/2 hours before the show to meet and greet with drivers. Tickets for the show and pre-show are still available online.

City-Wide Vintage Sale

5 decades in and the City-Wide Vintage Sale continues to bring in sellers and buyers from all over the state. Taking place over the weekend at Palmer Events Center on Barton Springs, the sale brings together over 80 vintage vendors with mid-century modern furniture, plenty of decor, vintage clothing, and so much more.
