Glens Falls apartment fire sends woman to burn unit

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- One woman is receiving treatment in the Westchester Burn Center after a fire on Bay Street. Fire officials said they could contain the fire to one apartment in the building.

Firefighters were called to 158 Bay Street around 11 a.m. on Wednesday and immediately noticed smoke when they arrived. Police told fire officials there was one woman entrapped.

Fire officials said the woman was breathing when they removed her from the apartment, but her condition is unknown at the moment. Crews brought the fire under control in 30 minutes and saved nine other apartments in the building.

The fire is under investigation, and the cause is still being determined. Stay with NEWS10 as more information becomes available.
