New York governor pushes 'affordability agenda' as Democrats regroup after election losses

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is pitching voters on a series of populist economic policies as she lays out her agenda for the year. Hochul's so-called affordability agenda outlined measures to address the middle-class economic concerns that helped President-elect Donald Trump win the White House. She floated proposals to hand out free money, slash taxes and fight hedge funds, while also combating fears over crime, expanding mental health treatment services and working to strengthen security in the New York City subway system.
