Jon Stewart: Trump showing 'casual cruelty and d--- foolery' with fire meme
Jon Stewart says President-elect Trump is showing his "penchant for casual cruelty" by sharing a meme depicting the Hollywood sign in flames amid the wildfires in California.
"Trump shared a meme on Truth Social of fires raging behind the Hollywood sign, which was Photoshopped to read, 'Trump was right,'" Stewart said as he hosted Monday's "The Daily Show."
"Appropriate. Thank you, Mr. President," Stewart deadpanned.
"I'd almost forgotten your penchant for casual cruelty and dick foolery," the Comedy Central host said.
"Flames — nice touch on the graphics," Stewart said, pointing to Trump's social media post.
The image shared by Trump on Sunday came as wildfires continued to burn across the Los Angeles area. The fires have killed at least 24 people since they began last week, according to officials in California.
Stewart also hit at Trump for what he called merchandise-selling opportunity, after the president-elect was seen in a recent photo sporting a hat with "Trump was right about everything" printed on it.
"Surely you won't be content with just trolling those in dire need," Stewart said of Trump. "Surely you also see this as a merch-pportunity."
