Karnataka: Contractors set week’s deadline for release of pending bills, put Congress regime in spot
The association representing contractors has urged seven ministers, including Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, to clear pending bills worth Rs 30,000 crore. They threatened to escalate the issue if not resolved within a week. Allegations exist of increased bribes in awarding contracts. Opposition claims only well-connected contractors are being paid, increasing pressure on the current administration.
