Court proceedings for man charged in UnitedHealthcare CEO's killing are delayed several weeks
Lawyers in the criminal case of the man accused of gunning down UnitedHealthcare’s CEO in front of a Manhattan hotel have agreed to postpone any court proceedings until mid-February. Prosecutors and defense lawyers say an indictment will not be required to be brought against Luigi Mangione until Feb. 17. He is currently charged in a criminal complaint. The lawyers say they want more time to prepare for pretrial hearings and the eventual trial. Authorities say the 26-year-old Maryland native fatally shot Brian Thompson on Dec. 4 as he walked to an investor conference. Prosecutors and Mangione's lawyers declined to comment.
