Hunt for absolute arsonist who set his own trousers on fire
Police in Australia are on the hunt for two men concerning a suspicious fire set on Christmas morning – but one of the suspects was caught setting himself on fire and stripping down in a panic.
Victoria Police released CCTV footage of the two suspects who are believed to have set the fire in Doncaster, Australia, around 2.40am on December 25.
The duo arrived on the scene in a white Toyota Tarago, before opening a flammable liquid and pouring it over the storefront.
The hooded men then set the building alight, when one of them jumped back in a panic, realising he set his trousers on fire.
Footage went on to show the man running around in a panic, before stripping down to his birthday suit and continuing to sprint away with his shoes on fire.
His accomplice didn’t seem to know what to do in the situation, opting to run after him and stand to the side.
The duo haven’t been seen since, and it’s unknown if the ‘arse’-onist was injured in the chaos.
Victoria Police found the funny side, writing: ‘Remember: Stop, Drop and Roll! Am I right?’
A similar instance happened in Manchester in August, when three men walked into a local shop and poured fuel on the floor, setting it alight.
But the CCTV showed one of the attackers – who was holding a canister of petrol – seemingly set themselves on fire.
Further footage taken outside the premises showed how the thug struggled to extinguish the blaze as they ran away with their two accomplices.
Zaf, the store owner, said his two brothers thankfully managed to extinguish the blaze before it took over the whole building.
