Jimmy Carter's funeral brings together 5 current and former US presidents to honor one of their own

Five current and former U.S. presidents have come together for Jimmy Carter’s funeral. They were on their best behavior as they honored one of their own at Washington National Cathedral. For a service that stretched more than an hour Thursday, the feuding, grievances and enmity that marked their rival campaigns and divergent politics gave way to a reverential moment. Barack Obama and Donald Trump shook hands and chatted despite the political chasm between them. Obama chatted with George W. Bush, as well. And Bush chatted with Bill Clinton. In a way, former President Gerald Ford was there, too: Ford's son read a eulogy for Carter that Ford wrote before he died in 2006.
