Morning Briefing: Juan Soto Makes a Young Fan’s Dream Come True

Mets superstar Juan Soto was in the Dominican Republic on Wednesday to create a very special moment for a young fan. A young boy named Leonardo went viral last month with a video showing his harsh living conditions, and in the same video, he said one of his dreams was to meet Juan Soto. Well, on Wednesday night, for a Tigres del Licey game, Leonardo got to throw out the first pitch to Juan Soto.
Soto said in his early talks with the Mets that they discussed the outfielder playing a few games in the future for the Tigres del Licey, a prominent team in the Dominican Winter Ball League (LIDOM).
